LXF 5 RETURNS MARCH 13 WITH TWO TITLE BOUTS
Lights Out Xtreme Fighting (LXF) Returns Friday, March 13 at Commerce Casino LXF 5 To Feature Two Title Bouts Tickets on sale now - Click Here to buy Tickets LOS ANGELES, California—Lights Out Xtreme Fighting returns for an action-packed evening headlined by two championship title fights when the LXF cage enters Commerce Casino on Friday, March 13 for LXF 5. LXF 5 will air tape-delayed on Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket, Fox Sports San Diego as well as regional Fox Sports markets in Las Vegas, Hawaii and parts of Mexico.

In the main event, LXF heavyweight champion Mike Quintero (6-2) will defend his title against Blake Troop (8-6). Quintero, who moonlights as a professor at Los Angeles City College, will defend his title for the first time since winning the strap as the headliner for LXF 4 against Jay Silva. Quintero didn’t make his MMA pro debut until the age of 38. By age 43, he’d accomplished his championship dreams, and he’s aiming to teach Troop another lesson. Troop will be moving up from light heavyweight to heavyweight for the fight after falling in his LXF 3 debut to Andrey Vasilenko via unanimous decision. All of Troop’s victories have come via first round finishes, and he was riding a four-fight winning streak until he met Vasilenko.

“As a former NFL player who’s been involved in the MMA scene for 15 years, I know a thing or two about hard work and discipline,” says Shawne Merriman, co-founder of LXF and a former All-Pro linebacker for the San Diego Chargers. “Here at LXF, we’re focused on showcasing some of the most talented fighters on the local circuit and turning them into household names.”

The LXF’s mission is to develop the next generation of MMA fighters while also offering athletes from other sports a platform to step into the cage and pursue their dreams, and former NFL defensive lineman Chris McCain (3-0) will continue seizing the opportunity and crossover into the LXF cage. McCain, a four-year NFL veteran who’s played 35 career games for the Chargers, Dolphins and Saints, was recruited by Merriman to the promotion and has promptly scored a knockout at LXF 2 in July, a unanimous decision victory at LXF 3 in September and a submission victory during LXF 4. McCain will take on an opponent still-to-be-determined at LXF 5.
