Khashakyan-Bryant Battle For Vacant LXF Title

Featherweight championship belt on the line
Alfred Khashakyan will look to continue his KO streak against up-and-coming A.J. Bryant. Alfred Khashakyan (10-4, fighting out of Glendale, California) and A.J. Bryant (11-3, fighting out of Highland, California) will battle for the vacant featherweight championship title at LXF 3 on Sept. 21 at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. The 145-pound encounter will be the main event for the third installment of Lights Out Xtreme Fighting. The affair is surely shaping to be a barn burner, as all of Khashakyan’s career wins have come via knockout.
"I’m looking to prove that I’m the king of Lights Out Xtreme Fighting and that these fighters are not on my level," said Khashakyan. "I’m here to show that I’m fearless, and I never back down from any challenge or adversity."

The 30-year old Khashakyan, the former CXF bantamweight champion who trains out of Glendale Fighting Club, brings a kickboxing and karate background. The heavy-handed Armenian appeared in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2017, but ended up falling short in a first round knockout. Khashakyan is coming off of two consecutive first-round stoppage victories in the LXF cage and is looking to keep the momentum going against Bryant.

"A.J. has a great skill set and conditioning. I don't see him getting gassed at any point in the fight and he has a good head on his shoulders. I believe my victory against him comes with my power and aggressive offense, but I have to stay focused and precise," said Khashakyan. "A.J.’s weakest point is his chin. He was almost getting finished by Jared Papazian, who was away from the sport for two years, Jared dropped AJ in the first round, and I promise you, I hit much harder and heavier than Jared does."

Bryant, a former CXF champion, is coming off of an impressive second-round TKO win over veteran fighter Papazian during LXF 2. He’s finished seven of his 11 victories by TKO/KO.

"Although things went my way in my last fight, I’d give my performance a five-out-of-ten. I did what I said I would, but I wasn’t happy with certain things that occurred in that fight. I’m a perfectionist and I’m always looking to attain greatness," said Bryant. "Alfred’s a talented fighter, complete mixed martial artist and dangerous, but I’m dangerous everywhere, too. He looks for the finish, but I never assume anything. I’ve been in the gym working hard in many areas adding to my arsenal and am very much looking forward to finishing Alfred. Wherever this fight goes, I’ll be ready. I’m just looking at another name on a long list of names in my way."

LXF 3 will air tape-delayed on regional Fox Sports channels in the Los Angeles, San Diego, Texas, Florida, Arizona and Ohio markets.

Tickets for LXF 3 can be purchased starting at $65 online or at the Commerce Casino box office on Saturday, September 21. VIP Dinner and Bottle Service Tables are also available.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the action begins at 7 p.m. All bouts are subject to change.
